Annual Meeting – Tonight at 7pm!
The 2017-2018 season is a very special one here at County Players. It marks our 60th consecutive season in operation, which is an extraordinary milestone for any volunteer organization. County Players is one of the few community-based theatres in New York to have achieved this kind of longevity, and it is all thanks to the enthusiasm and support we have received from you, our audiences.
In 1958 a small group of local residents with an avid interest in theatre formed County Players. The vision of our founders was to provide the Hudson Valley region with quality productions for both the enjoyment of audiences and opportunities for those interested in participating in those productions. In the past 60 seasons, we have presented over 250 productions and have served thousands of theatregoers who continue to reward our efforts with their loyal attendance.
In 1977, we acquired the old Academy Theatre in the Village of Wappingers Falls, and through countless hours of volunteer efforts, we turned a crumbling relic into a living theatre – The County Players Falls Theatre. We paid off our mortgage, continue to make improvements to our building, and still manage to keep our prices at an affordable level. Our promise for the future is to continue on the path of fiscal responsibility, theatrical excellence, and service to those interested in participating, both onstage and behind the scenes.
Throughout the 2017-2018 season, we will proudly promote our 60 years. We hope you will celebrate with us, and we thank you for supporting us. If you have any special ideas for ways to enhance our celebration, please let us know!
