In a bar in rural Ireland, the local men swap spooky stories in an attempt to impress a young woman from Dublin who recently moved into a nearby “haunted” house. However, the tables are soon turned when she spins a yarn of her own.

Audition Info:
The Weir is part of the CP2 Readers Theatre Series. No costumes, no sets, no props, no memorization of lines, minimal rehearsal time, and the actors perform with their scripts in hand.
Set in rural Ireland. Present day in a small rural bar.
  • Jack, a mechanic and garage owner in his fifties.
  • Brendan, the owner of the pub in which the play is set. He is in his thirties.
  • Jim, Jack’s assistant, in his forties.
  • Finbar Mack, a local businessman in his late forties.
  • Valerie, a Dublin woman in her thirties.
