A Twice-Told Tale
Learn what happened to Abigail Williams 10 years after she danced in the weird woods of Salem in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. Set ten years after the Salem witch trials, Abigail/1702 follows Abigail Williams, the former accuser who sent twenty people to their deaths, as she lives under an assumed name near Boston, seeking redemption. To escape her past, she must first make peace with the woman she wronged most.
Abigail/1702 is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. dramatists.com
Abigail/1702 is literary brain food…not so much a sequel to The Crucible, but instead a unique retelling of Faust…full of heart and conviction. The Poughkeepsie Journal
CP2 Readers Theatre is an exciting series at County Players which offers an opportunity for actors, directors, and audience members to experience theater in a fresh way: selected plays with full dramatic readings, no costumes, no sets, no props, and the actors perform with scripts in hand. These shows are an incredible opportunity to experience great theater stripped to its essence: the playwright’s words.
