Vanya and his adopted sister, Sonia, live a quiet life in a Pennsylvania farmhouse, while their movie star sister Masha travels the world. PRODUCTION HISTORY:

VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE premiered in Princeton, NJ on September 14, 2012. The play made its New York City premiere at Lincoln Center Theater on November 12, 2012. On March 14, 2013, VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE premiered on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre. Directed by Nicholas Martin, all three productions featured David Hyde Pierce, Kristine Nielsen, Shalita Grant, Sigourney Weaver, Billy Magnussen and Genevieve Angelson.

Aiden Breneman-pennas (Spike)

is a recent graduate of the Schar School of Policy and Governance at George Mason University. He made his County Players debut in Something Rotten! (Francis Flute), and is ecstatic to be returning. Other production credits include 9 to 5: The Musical; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (George Mason Musical Theater), and The Classical Style (George Mason University Opera). Aiden is also a trained paralegal and open to making connections in the Hudson Valley.

Deborah Coconis (Sonia)

’s previous plays and readings with County Players include Lips Together, Teeth Apart (Chloe Haddock), Into the Breeches! (Winifred Snow), Seven Keys to Baldpate (Mrs. Rhodes), and The Roommate (Sharon). She has appeared at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck in many cherished roles, and with Half Moon Theatre in their production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Cassandra). “In gratitude to the cast and crew for making this a pleasure. Thank you to Eli for running lines with me!”

Michael J. Frohnhoefer (Vanya)

is very happy to once again be up on the boards. Michael has had the great privilege to have been an actor in over twenty productions here at County Players, and each one was a great experience. Some favorites include Greater Tuna, Noises Off, and The Price, just to name a few. “Thank you all for coming out to support community theater, it means the world to us. Special Thanks to Mom, Dad, family, and friends. I hope you enjoy!! Heart and Soul.”

Ana Hein (Cassandra)

is excited to be returning to County Players, where she previously performed in A Few Good Men (Lawyer #2/MP) and the CP2 readings Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (Lydia Wickham), The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley (Lydia Wickham), and Dracula (Narrator/Maid/Vixen). Other local credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor with Livingroom Shakespeare. By day, she is a writer of essays and criticism, with an MFA in nonfiction from Columbia University. Leigh Katz (Masha)

Rebecca Nagle (Nina)

She has managed productions of Every Brilliant Thing, Godspell, Bat Boy, Little Women, Hello! Dolly, Something Rotten!, She Kills Monsters, and other shows on various stages with various production companies around Dutchess County. Kelsey Wertheim (Costume Designer)

is thrilled to be working on her first County Players production as part of the design team. Dani Masterson (Hair & Makeup Designer)

is an award-winning makeup artist whose artistry has enriched stage, film, and television productions for over four decades. Her portfolio boasts renowned works, including A Few Good Men, Ragtime, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, It’s Only a Play, Native Gardens, The Book of Will, Young Frankenstein, Seven Keys to Baldpate, Jesus Christ Superstar, Aida, Spamalot, and Amadeus. Her expertise in wig design and makeup artistry has graced such venues as County Players and Westchester Broadway Theater. Dani’s skills earned her the Best Hair Design Award from the 2019 Broadway World Regional Awards. Dani was also inducted into the prestigious Buglers Hall of Fame, a testament to her diverse talents and passions. Dani serves as a Moulage Specialist, creating hyper-realistic special effects injuries for Homeland Security training exercises.

Nancy Scrivner (Properties)

has been happy to be a part of many County Players productions for over 20 years. “Thank you to this cast and crew. Thank you, audience members, for being a part of the family.”

Peggy Ringwood (Properties)

is excited to work with this talented cast and crew. She has appeared on-stage in many County Players productions, and headed props on many more. is thrilled to be back at County Players, where she was previously seen in A Few Good Men (Court Reporter), The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberly (Cassie), Dracula (Mina), Big Fish (Josephine Bloom), Babel (Ann), and An Ideal Husband (Mable Chiltern). Other credits include Calendar Girls, Seussical the Musical, and A Murder is Announced at The Playhouse at Museum Village, and The Importance of Being Earnest at Cornerstone Theatre. She would like to thank the gaggle of wild turkeys: Matt, Chris, Michael, Aiden, Leigh, Debra, and Ana, for their hard work and for making each rehearsal so much fun.
